We have been working on a demonstration video that will be included into the website very soon.
This demonstration video explains a little bit on who we are, what we do and why we do what we do.
We also use 3 example scripts in this demonstration and touch a little bit on each site script and what it does.

I was just upgrading the nightly build of Wordpress 2.7. And noticed that it was upgraded to Beta 3. What a great feature. Check out the complete Beta 3 details here.

So Far So Good. I have installed WP 2.7 Beta 2. I really like how the back end operates. The only problem I am having is the post editor is not visual. This might only be a problem in the build I have Installed. Which is build 9582. I have just Beta 2 installed on another blog and there is no problem. I have not yet implemented the comments features. Comments.php is already modifed to run the User Link Feed. If you see any problems or bugs please let me know.

Well it’s taken awhile but I finally have a new look for the JD site Care Blog. The new look comes froman awesome tutorial from Nettuts. Which uses WP-Query and the 960 grid system to make a newspaper theme. I have alot of changes to make and things to add. But i felt I have enough work for it  to be used.

Things are realy starting to pull itself together pretty good.
Over the next day or so we will be expanding the site to a new level.
Attached to jdsitecare.com will be a modstore.
Mods for different scripts will be posted free/paid mods such as dolphin, wordpress, joomla etc.
If you wish to have a dolphin install done and want some mods to go with it, going through the mod list could help you get what you need on your website.

It’s here, the first public beta of Wordpress 2.7. I am very excited to get it installed and give it a test run. The final version is going to be delayed, but we can test out the new interface now. A release canidate will be available on November 10 and the final version will be comming about two weeks after that.

WordPress has released a security update to their blogging software. A vulnerability was discovered in the Snoopy library. WordPress uses Snoopy to fetch the feeds shown in the Control Panel Dashboard.

Although this seems to be a low risk vulnerability for Wordpress users, the company wanted to get an update out immediately. 2.6.3 is available for download right now.

Because this is a security issue, all WordPress users must upgrade. Fortunately, this new release updates only two files. If you don’t want to download the entire WordPress program just to get the security fix, you can download the following two files and copy them over your 2.6.2 installation.

• wp-includes/class-snoopy.php
• wp-includes/version.php

Replacing two files is a lot easier than upgrading an entire WordPress installation. This has been the easiest to install update yet.

After about two weeks of having continual database failures. My hosting company have moved my server. It now appears that everyting is running good. I haven’t noticed any problems since the move. Hopefully things stay that way.

When running Wordpress or any other site that requires MySQl. It become very frustrating when the database keeps crashing or having errors. With the constant worry of loosing everything sine your last backup.

Here are two handy plugins you can use to back up your Wordpress Database. You Wordpress site is nothing with out the database behind it. But you can only use these plugins when your MySQL sever is running properly.

• WP-DB-Backup

  WP-DB-Backup allows you easily to backup your core WordPress database tables. You may also backup other tables in the same database. Plugin Homepage.

• WP-DBManager

  Allows you to optimize database, repair database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database , drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Supports automatic scheduling of backing up and optimizing of database. Plugin Homepage.

Hopefully you don’t run into any problems and not have a database backup. But if you use either one of these plugins you will have backups of you Wordpress install. And can back up and running with out major problems.

I am currently having a lot of issues with my hosting company. I keep having MySQL errors. This is becomming very frustrating. Do any one know of a good solid host that I can move my site too?

I have been having problems for almost two weeks now. And I have know idea when they will rsolve the issues.

We have finally realeased our first Wordpress theme. It is based on the _Base_ theme by Fresh01 and a great tutoial from Nettuts. The theme also uses the 960 CSS framework. It contains a updates or news section in the left sidebar using WP_Query. Also a Featured Post’ without using JQuery or Javacript.

Check out the screen shot to get the basic idea of what it looks like.

The is a very basic theme, that can be easily modified.
