Promoting your website

Now it’s time to get your efforts together cause you’re going to need them.
The reason i say this is because promoting websites is not a overnight task and is not something you can do just once in a blue moon.
Promoting websites takes alot of time and work to do, the more you promote the better your results are going to be.
When you’re promoting, you are telling people about your site and what you have to offer.

Ways to promote your website

Here are some examples on promoting your website.
I can not tell you that all of these will work, but it realy depends on how creative and descriptive you can be.
It all depends on the content!.

  1. Blogging
    • Create blog pages such as blogger
  2. Submit your website link to search engines (google, yahoo, msg etc.)
  3. Create a facebook page and invite your friends to participate and get involved in discussions
    • The more content facebook users will see in discussions, the likely they will be to have more of an interest
  4. Digg
    • Submiting your links to Digg will be seen by other members using Digg, the more members you can follow and communicate with, the greater your chances.
  5. Stumble
    • Submit your link to stumble and members who stumble accross your profile will see your links.
The more visitors you can get to your profile, the better but it’s all in how you get visitors to view your profile.
Find members who share some of the same interests as you and start following them.
  6. Directories
    • Submit your link to online directories, this allows everyone to view everyone’s links.
  7. Put a big sign on your front lawn that says “Stop by www.domain.com and let me know what you think”

Those are some steps you can take to help promote your website.
Oh….Don’t put a big sign on your front lawn that says “Stop by www.domain.com and let me know what you think”

You can also do some outside advertising such as T-Shirts, Keychains, Mugs, Car decal, bumper stickers if you have a car, etc.
When your promoting contains content that describes your website make sure it’s descriptive, give people a reason to have a interest in your website.
Be creative about your postings, make them interesting.
Make sure to use keywords in your postings.

When promoting on different websites you want to make sure you keep the postings active because if you leave postings too long you wont get the results you’re looking for.
I personaly don’t classify it as “Promote it than leave it on autopilot”, you have to make sure you keep your content fresh and up to date with what’s going on on your website.

At a later time or any time for that matter you can use google adwords to help bring traffic to your website.
With google adwords (to those who aren’t familiar with it) allows you to pay to have your site listed on google.
You would set you own budget based on keywords you use.
Now you might be asking “Why would i want to pay to have my site on google when i can do it for free?”
Adding your website URL to the free submission, your site may not be ranked as high on their engine, anotherwards your site could be at page 15 for example where as using adwords your site could be on the second or third page.
As your visitors grow on your site, it will rank your site to a higher rank which is exacly what you are trying to accomplish.
It wont happen over night, however the more you promote the more visitors you will get, and also the higher your budget the better it will be for you.

Well that covers this post.
I hope you found some useful tips here and that some of them will work out for you.
I wish you all good luck in promoting your site and getting some activity.
