With the up coming release of WordPress 3.0, we are going to get a lot of new features.  One of the  anticipated features is Custom Post Types.

Custom post types allow users to easily create and management such things as portfolios, projects, video libraries, podcasts, quotes, chats, and whatever a user or developer can imagine.

Justin Tadlock has written a great tutorial about Custom Post Types. I recommend reading it and letting your imagination go when thinking about the different things you will be able to do.
